Rodinum

Rodinum
RODINUM
A mediaeval pink coloured silk (" rodinus " means pink colour in Latin). When the colour was pale the fabric was called Leucorodina, while dark pinks were known as Diarodina. An account states that St. Endes, Archbishop of Canterbury, who died in a.d. 961 was buried in this fabric. Since the 13th century pink coloured silks were reserved almost exclusively to ladies of noble birth.
